Anyway I get word back for free

If you bought the computer and it came with CDs, Word should be on one of the CDs. Other than that you won't be able to get it back if it's actually gone.

Perhaps try looking in the Program Files folder to see if you have Microsoft Office or Microsoft Word folder.

If you have a vaild CD-Key still then you may be able to call up M$ and ask to have the CDs sent to you.

that's also an option, they send CDs at a very minimal price.

Also use the search files feature on your PC and look in the Add/Remove Programs of the Control Panel.

As long as you have your CD's like Gen said above, just reinstall.

and also, it's likely not gone if no one removed it from control panel. So maybe just the shortcut is gone, definitely look for files.... I think it's word.exe
