    Question Adding Directory to Apache Virtual Host!

    Hello!

    I have a virtual host for apache, which is also connected to Tomcat for executing JSP pages.Now i am trying to allow access to my virtual host to the directory "/home/adv".The entries in my different files are:

    In httpd.conf:
    <VirtualHost 192.168.0.111:80>
    ServerName sep14dom3.com
    DocumentRoot "/webspace/sep14dom3.com/docs/html"
    # Alias for examplesite
    Alias /adv/ "/home/adv/"
    <Directory "/home/adv">
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    </Directory>
    JkMount /* wrkr
    </VirtualHost>
    In Tomcat's server.xml:
    <!-- sep14dom3.com -->
    <Host name="sep14dom3.com" appBase="/webspace/sep14dom3.com/docs/html"
    unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true">

    <Context path="" docBase="" debug="0" reloadable="true"/>

    <Valve className="org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogVal ve"
    directory="logs" prefix="web1_access_log." suffix=".txt"
    pattern="common" resolveHosts="false"/>
    </Host>
    In workers.properties:

    worker.wrkr.port=8009
    worker.wrkr.host=sep14dom3.com
    worker.wrkr.type=ajp13
    Now, when i access the site: http://sep14dom3.com, i get the correct html page.

    When i try to access the jsp- page, my examples execute correctly.

    But when i enter http://sep14dom3.com/adv, i get the error
    HTTP Status 404
    I have created the /home/advcomm directory and html page is also placed there.Can anybody help me with it?

    I don't really know about the rest of the stuff but this seems odd ..

    What if you change this to;

    Code:
    alias /adv/ /home/adv/
    and reload apache with /etc/init.d/apache2 force-reload then test it??

    Well, I just tried it and it worked.

    Code:
    Alias /test/ /home/compunuts/test-zencart/
    <directory "/home/compunuts/test-zencart/">
            Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
            AllowOverride None
            Order allow,deny
            allow from all
    </Directory>
    YMMV though.

    What about if you put in those options within directory setting?
    Code:
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
    AllowOverride None

    I just tried to put that with my home directory and it worked.

    Code:
    Alias /test/ /home/compunuts/
    <directory "/home/compunuts/">
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
    AllowOverride None
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    </directory>
