Support for RFC3390?

Does Linux support RFC3390? If so, which kernel version do I need?

I have an application which can benefit from the TCP window being 4 in lieu of 1 after entering slow start. On BSD, there is a sysctl variable to enable this. Testing results show the benefit (again, in my application.)

I'd like to enable the same on my Linux systems, but searching for rfc3390 doesn't turn anything up.

I personally dont know, but didnt see much in google either. I would stick with OpenBSD if you can utilize it.

Thanks. I need to have this on the deployed (and to be deployed) Linux systems. I try to apply solutions on one platform to all the others.

I'll simply make the change myself

It's a simply one line change to the kernel. Before I do that however (for "production") and have to maintain my own special kernel if you will, I figured I'd ask. I'll make the change to test however. It's a TCP thing, not specific to any flavor of "unix". So I expect the same performance gain.

Have you checked to see if it is a current kernel config option? I am not near a Linux box right now (on te road with my mac). But that may be an option in there if every other nix supports it.

No, I'll do that shortly. Wouldn't there be a #ifdef as a result? I didn't see any in the code.
