    Question Disabled SELINUX !

    Hello ,

I have disabled selinux in order to make the tomcat service work for the apache webserver.I tried many configuration steps but the configuration worked only when selinux is disabled.

I wanted to ask whether disabling selinux can cause any big problem or create any type of serious issue.

Or is there any other alternative to tackle with this problem???.

disabling selinux will not hurt anything as far as its function, in fact it will help from being impared by selinux restrictions

however, this could increase some security implications on a production server, if that doesnt make sense, then maybe you should read up on what selinux actually is, basically its a process accounting system that enforces heavy audits and security rules against processes

ideally you should adjust your selinux profile to work with the processes you are wanting to run with it, rather than disabling it
