    Connecting to Internet From Linux

Hello , I saw a message with a similar topic on this forum,
But my problem is a little different!
I have installed FC3 on my system along with WinXP, I have an intel modem for my dialup connection ,although I have the modem driver I can't install it. It says that kernel is not supported !
Does anyone have any idea what should I do??
This will be over soon, and then I can ...

The easiest way is probably to get a cheap external modem - the serial/parallel type, not USB. External modems are not Winmodems and are better to connect.

It means the driver you got was compiled for a particular kernel version. The documentation of the driver should say what version. After you know which one, you should go and install the RPM package for that particular kernel version, or see the documentation to see if you can compile the driver for your current kernel.

Alternatively, you can check the documentation on the linmodem website.

    Hi,
    It is an Intel modem.

    There are different Intel modems.
The linmodem website has documentation on how to determine what modem you have, as well as how to get it to work.
