This is beyond my meager abilities to figure out.

3 redhat servers, all running the exact same OS.

On two of them, if I create a new print queue, select jetdirect, put in the ip addy of the printer, and for queue type, put text only, ok, apply.

When you print to them, i.e., lp -d itprn testfile

the job goes off into the void. Nothing every happens at the printer.

On the third server, when I do the exact same steps as above, it works perfectly.

If I go back to the two in question, and make no changes other than change text to raw, it prints, such as it is. This verifies that the ip address is right, whole setup is right. Now I change it back to text only, ok, apply.

send a job to the printer and off into the void it goes again!

Any ideas?
