second NIC

ok i'm running fedora 5 and i have already a onboard NIC which is a via(not sure of the model) but it works fine, i bought a hawking HGA32T gigabit NIC and when i go the network device control its not there. if i click on the hardware tab its in there but, theres no place for me to configure it. not sure whats going on as it works in FC4. thanks,

is the r8169 module loaded? Also is the line
alias eth1 r8169
in the file /etc/modprobe.conf ?
