First, that was in middle of no where. There are more animals than cars around.

Second, probably, cell phone don't work that far north in NZ.

Third, doing 75 on 60 limit is nothing. Here we do 80/85 on 50 limit (Highway 87) and 85/90 on 65 limit (Highway 85). It's usually known as "those freeways are named after the speed in which people drive at" freeways.

speedlimits exist for a reason - there are also concerns about traction, vehicle instability, etc.

I've seen to many carwreck victims to joke about it - once you have to hear the stories from people who actually got paralysed in a wreck on an empty road it just looses it's cool.

Please don't endanger yourselves or others - it's uncool(tm).

Personally, I think speed limits ought to be done away with on certain highways. Just keep the drunks off the road.

I'd be in hog heaven if I cold just floor it on a long stretch, or even a twisty here and there. http://www.killboy.com/

yeah drunks need to stay off the raod...but for a nice long streach of road try the highway at 2-3am
