Thread: chown <ldap user> <dir>, permission denied

  1. #1

    chown <ldap user> <dir>, permission denied

    when I try to execute chown as myself. (also an ldap user)

    $ chown user1 xprobe2-0.3/
    chown: changing ownership of `xprobe2-0.3/': Operation not permitted

    however as root the above works fine.

    any ideas what cuased this?
