    Pinnacle PCTV Rave TV-card

    Hello,
    I am working in FC4.
    I have installed a Pinnacle PCTV Rave TV-card.
    And I installed tvtime and wehn I start tvtime:

    [gastonv@pandora1 ~]$ tvtime
    Starte tvtime 1.0.1.
    Lese Konfiguration aus /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
    Lese Konfiguration aus /home/gastonv/.tvtime/tvtime.xml

    Then I can see the tvtime-Screen with a message : 'No Signal'.
    I think I have to install or configure something more ...
    Perhaps somebody can help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Greetings,
    Gaston Verhulst.

    Have you set up the channel list ? http://tvtime.sourceforge.net/usage.html#channels

    Re:Pinnacle PCTV Rave TV-card

    Thanks for your quick, prompt answer.
    In the mean time I have tvtime running, in my case from the cable.
    For that I had choose for:
    Norm = PAL
    Videosource = Television
    Frequency place = Europe
    I can see all channels very well.

    The audio is not yet very good.
    For that I can "change default audio standard" between PAL-I, PAL-BG and PAL-DK.
    The only audio-norm where I can hear something, is PAL-BG.
    But that noise is not very good,
    Ha, I see now, when tvtime is minimized, then the sound is very good.
    Otherwise, when maximized, then the sound is disturbed.

    So, I think I have to setup something more ...?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gaston Verhulst.

    You might want to focus on the driver settings altho your problem isn't listed there, the direction on finding out which card type yours are, and giving bttv the correct arguments, might be worth a try, especialy the modprobe bttv card=X tuner=Y might be an approach.

    Or perhaps something like the mapping of audiochannels might be what is needed.

    //edit
    If you dont have the kernel-source handy, here is an online version which reveals your card to be:
    card=39 - Pinnacle PCTV Rave

    Re:Pinnacle PCTV Rave TV-card

    Thanks for your help.
    But I could not solve the problem.
    I try to discribe the problem more clearly.

    When tvtime is visible on the screen, full or not full, then the audio is highly disturbed.
    It gives the same 'bad' result when I connect the hearphone direct to the TV-Card or to my Soundcard. In this last case the Soundcard is connected to the TV-card.

    But the audio is good in the following cases:
    1. When tvtime is minimized, so not on the screen.
    2. On the screen, but not visible because of another program window lays over the tvtime-window.

    I have to say I have a splendid visible tvtime-window.

    My system:
    Fedora Core 4
    Videocard: Nvidia Geforce 5200
    TV-Card: Pinnacle PCTV Rave.
    Soundcard: Creative 4.1

    Thanks in advance and greetings,
    Gaston Verhulst.
