I have not tried this, but I believe you can install a native Yahoo! Messenger client on SuSe using the Redhat RPMs ...

Me too, it's my first time to run linux today. i dont know how to install applications yet. I istalled Ubuntu. Pls give me a step-by-step instruction how to install yahoo and chikka messengers. thanks!

go to google and look for the packages for your respective flavors.... RedHat and Suse should be using RPM and Ubuntu should be the DEB.

look here, rpm.pbone.net (for RedHat and Suse users) and http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages for (Ubuntu and Debian-based flavors).

and learn how to extract it. use "man dpkg" for Debian-based and "man rpm" for RedHat-based and alike.
