    KDE freezes on startup

    Hello all,

Nebie to Linux here. I install Slackware on my laptop. All went well. Running KDE freezes my PC. When the splash screen gets to "initializing peripherals" and the world icon, my pc freezes, including my mouse. I can't get out of it any way other than unplugging it.

I have upgraded my nvidia drivers and not that gnome works find. Als when I run KDE, my mouse does work during the load and then bam, it does the freeze.

It there some log file or some way I can figure out what is wrong? Also how do I get my versions of all this stuff, kde, xfree86, even linux....

    thanks
    Ralph

Can you post the results of the command
    Code:
    tail /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
