Thread: SNMP logging

    SNMP logging

I have a VMWare 2.5.2 server running the default install of SNMP. I need to be able to see what snmp traffic is being generated by the os. I have found things to monitor network traffic but nothing that will actually log my snmp traffic in enough detail to tell me what I need to know.
    Any ideas?

    What sort of detail?

SNMP is configured to send traps. I receive the trap when a guest os is started but I don't get a response from the receiving end when a guest os goes down. I want to know if the trap is really getting sent when the guest os goes down or if the receiving end is not acknowledging it.
