I need some help with UT2004, i dont get any sound, i have just moved to linux 4 days ago and i have no idea about compileing things and such,
if anyone can help me in a simple way, PLZ HELP!!!! ( i saw the other No Sound On UT2004 but it was no help to me at all.)
What is the distro you chose? Are you running a 2.6.x or a 2.4.x kernel? Do you happen to know if you're using OSS or ALSA sound drivers? What is your window manager?
I hate to tell you this, but a kernel compile might be the only thing that will solve your problem. Eventually when running Linux, a user is going to have to learn how to do this. It's actually quite simple. The user only needs to know their hardware and what chipsets it uses, and then what kind of support they want from the kernel.
