For all of you metal-heads out there...

Today is a sad day in the world of rock, especially if you grew up with this music like I did...

I was shocked when I heard about that. I was not a fan of pantera or damageplan in particular, but it is terrible to see happen. I wonder if a more complete story will surface soon.

What I can't figure out, is that Damageplan is a big band (I didn't really care for them, but they aren't a little local band...). Why on earth would there not be adequate security (metal detectors, etc.) at an event with a big band? I still can't figure out how the guy just walked through the people and up onto the stage. I guess everyone just thought it was some guy just having fun up on stage with the favorite band... until he pulled out a gun, that is. All of this, supposedly, over a band breaking up?? PLEASE!! I look at things like this and wonder what chemical is missing in these people's brains, that they don't understand that what they are doing is irrational. It boggles my mind. I do find it interesting though, that the guy was in the Marines, but only served a year and a half of his enlistment before he was discharged. AND, the Marines are not saying why he was discharged... You know, having spent 8 years in the Air Force, I have worked with quite of few folks from all of the services, and everyone I know that is/was a Marine, is slightly 'off' in the head (and this includes some good friends of mine, so I am not just bashing Marines). Granted, it does take some crazyness to do some of the things they do, but...
