    Debian Woody and Radeon 9550

    Hi Guys!

I bought the ATI Radeon 9550 a few days ago, and now I would like to get Debian installed with it.
As install option I chose bf24, X -version says:
    Code:
warning: process set to nice value 0 instead of -10 as requested

This is a pre-release version of XFree86, and is not supported in any
way. Bugs may be reported to XFree86@XFree86.Org and patches submitted
to fixes@XFree86.Org. Before reporting bugs in pre-release versions,
please check the latest version in the XFree86 CVS repository
    (http://www.XFree86.Org/cvs)

    XFree86 Version 4.1.0.1 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6510)
    Release Date: 21 December 2001
If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
    	reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ)
Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.9-rc1 i686 [ELF]
    Module Loader present
First I tried to install the drivers as ATI wants it to be installed, but (of course) it didn't work.
So I followed Aragon's Guide, but it does not work for me either.

    /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod# sh ./make.sh says:
    Code:
    ATI module generator V 2.0
    ==========================
    initializing...
    Error:
XFree86 drm includes at /usr/src/linux/include/../drivers/char/drm do not fit this driver.
This driver is designed to only work with X4.1.0 or higher.
You can match this by getting Linux kernel 2.4.8 or higher.
Right now I'm using VESA as Device, but I'm not happy with it. Can you help me to conquer this terrible affliction?

    Regards

What version of X are you running and what version of the Kernel are you running?

Well I have been looking for an answer and it has been lacking, short of going out and buying this card and trying it, I am out of ideas since you meet the requirments. Although I am a bit skeptical on the kernel of your install being compatible(yes I know it says it is), but alas I'll keep looking. If you figure it out before then, please let us all know!
