Building Flash Animated Movies On Linux
is not as hard to do it by hand as i use to thing i have discoverd a really easy way to do it .
Now i am just talking about the animation part i am working on the action script part also as i speak.
So after i am finash you will be able to build a cartoon how cool is that .

The tools you need are
1. Inkscape ( Used to draw )
2. Gifsicle ( Turns a group of gif files into 1 animated gif file )
3. GIF2SWF ( Converts GIFs to SWF. Also able to handle animated gifs )
4. Nvu (WYSIWYG Html Editor Used for building websites "this one is optional" )

This is a animated gif example above.
In the image above there are 6 frames (Blue,Red,Black) Looping at a delay of 30

I basicly made 3 differant squares and and made 2 copys of each square
giveing me 6 gifs
The command to make a animated gif is:
gifsicle --loopcount --delay 30 1.gif 2.gif 3.gif 4.gif 5.gif 6.gif > animation.gif

Then you can issue this command:
gif2swf --output animation.swf animation.gif
To convert your animated gif into a animated swf file.

I am working on a real cartoon and once it is done i will post it here.

Here is what you need to insert your swf into nvu:

<object width="250" height="250">
<param name="movie" value="example.swf">
<embed src="example.swf" width="250" height="250">

I discoverd a new tool this morning.
It converts svg files to swf files and useing swftools i am pretty sure i can animate a group of swf files into 1 animated swf file.
This will make things alot easyer because with the export to gif option and useing inkscape i forgot to tell you that you had to export to bitmap then open that bitmap with gimp and then export to gif.
Useing svg2swf i am hopeing i just done away with the gif format all together.
We will have a Flash Mx temp replacement in no time. i hope
