    Slack 10

Is it just me, because I have a new installation of Slack 10, or is this thing alot faster than Slack 9? One gripe I always had with my Red Hat systems, and Slack 9.1 was that it seemed sluggish. Slack 10 feels downright zippy!

Probably because you're starting to understand how to better install things. Perhaps you didn't bloat your system this time around?

I can never really tell to be honest, because I seem to keep putting newer distro on slightly newer hardware each time.

    Re: Slack 10

Well, I do my usual... I install EVERYTHING, just to make sure that everything I might need, I have. I haven't done a package-by-package installation yet. I will wait for a bit on that, so I can get a better feel for what I need and what I don't... This things flies now... I am a little surprised. Well, that's one more reason that I no longer have when I start to look for excuses to go back to Winblows...

I'm using Slackware 10.0 now as well, and I very much like it. I really like the GTK+2.0 interface, as well as the anti-aliasing fonts. Plus it just works.

Hi there. Haven't heard from you in a while. Been doing good? Yes, Slackware 10.0 is extremely nice. It also has the new GTK+ file selector. That thing is just awsome.

Well I felt Slackware 9.1 was faster on my system. But maybe you should strip down packages and kill some services and it might be even faster.
