Hi!
Im trying install mandrake 9.2 in my third computer on my home network (fujitsu siemens intel pentium 400Mhz with integrated ati display adapter and intel sound card) and I never have been use linux before.
I try install also mandrake 7.1 in same computer and I get it work after many problems! both installations make same kind of problems: I cant get graphical mandrake working at all. I think that installation program wont find my display adapter.
I dont understand why 7.1 find at least my display adapter but some how I get it work.
When I start my computer it goes some kind of "dos" mode and I have no idea how it works! how I start it on graphical mode? I try startx command but it says cant load X....
In installation in graphical interface place it says" not set" when i try set it there isnt my display but display adapter is there but still isnt work!!!!
what I can do????

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
DFI NFII Ultra Infinity(gigabyte sucks)
OCZ 2 x 512 PC3200
ATI Radeon AIW 9600 PRO
16x DVD-Rom (not in use)
LG 8x DVD-Burner
LG 40x12x40 CD-RW
WD 120GB
420W PSU
Tweaked out case
:)
Can you give more exact model numbers for your hardware? Like for example: ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB, Asus A7V REV. 1.01. VIA KT133 Motherboard, etc...
The main things I need to know are Video, Motherboard, Sound, and type of internet connection. If it's a modem, what type. If it's Cable/DSL, what type of NIC, etc..
I will also need the exact model number for your Monitor. This is very important. Mine is for example a KDS-190P.
