The Samba on Redhat

hi all ,
i did all this Instructions in this page :

But in one of these stupes he ask me to Enter Workgroup name ?!!
I work in activeDirectory Domain not on workgroup so what i will write in this text ??? ??? ?!
Because I did all his instructions but till now The windows station can not see the Linux station ? ,

From what you say it seems to me you just need to replace WORKGROUP with ACTIVEDIRECTORY DOMAIN. Is this not what you want?

Also, I'm not sure if Win32 allows a space in it's naming convention. Is it just ACTIVEDIRECTORY?

Posting the contents of your smb.conf file will also help us determine your problem.

Heh heh, I guess it would have helped if I had known what an Active Directory was. Oh well, good shot alastair.

ok alharbi, if you're still there
was looking in my monthly magazine and they have a thing on setting up samba/windows :-)
run redhat-config-samba
go to the server setting
in the workgroup box, put in your domain.
give it a description
add your shares

I thourght you only had to put in the domain instead of the workgroup and also have a username and password valid on the domain. works with NT domain anyway, not sure about 2000 because of computer account it wants, but id imagine pretty much the same?
