All i can think of is changing refresh rates etc. in your XF86Config file
Post more if you need help on this
Hi there, I'm new to linux and I've just tried to install Redhat 9 on a 4 gig partition of my windows machine. Everything seems to work alright except the display looks strange. It appears to be very wavey (almost like water was running over it) and the right 20% of the screen has a bar runing down it with very fast lines up and down (what can I say... I suck at illustrating problems). The monitor's a PCVA-15QA1 (QVGA 1280*960) LCD screen with Hrizontal (Vertical) refresh running at 59-61 kHz (Hz) and the video card is a SiS 630 with 16 MB of shared memory. Please let me know if anyone has run into this prob before and what a possible solution might be. Thanks in advance.

Its better to regret something you have done than to regret something you havent done :P
Here is a site reguarding your graphics driver. You'll need to look it over for any options in the driver that might help resolve your problem.

The Monitor that you're using is going to be rather difficult to setup as Sony either doesn't know or wont give out the information for the refresh rates. This knowledge attained from http://xfree86.desiato.de/xfree86/pi...il/007358.html
Just for the sake of checking. Open up your /etc/X11/XF86Config file, and it might be called XF86Config-4. If the XF86Config-4 is there use it instead. Find the section labed Monitor section. From there check to make sure that the correct Horizontal, and Vertical refresh rates are inputed. If not then input the correct ones. Since Sony doesn't seem to have the correct information, you'll have to go off of what you can attain from Windows.
