Read the article. Agree with the conclusions. Feel sorry for younger generations. Between an administration filled with goof-balls, a congress only out to line its own pockets, industrialist lobbying privilages, and probably a giant asteroid headed for earth -- things seem a bit bleak.

I was thinking of starting a new political party -- USFP (United States First Party or the MFP -- Me First Party. The constituants would be us intellegent (somewhat) geek/nerd/gadget freaks. We could use email to get all on board.

The convention could be held at the biggest expo going on in the early part of next year.

Someone here in fooland should run a poll to see if it is a feasable idea. I thnk I have some great ideas for the party symbol and slogans.

When Russia was allowed to "collapse" It was the 'Tecnocrats' in authority that knew the old system was doomed and let it happen

America First was the party of Lars Daley (Daily?) too many of us remember him to ever vote for a party with a simular
name.

I back a nerd run country but am more focused on 'no' country. I love Earth as a single unit.

How about Lawrence Lessig as a leader?

I am of an age so that I should remember "Lars Daley (Daily?)", but I don't. So I goggled the name and cannot find it.

I also googled "Lawrence Lessig" whom I did not know, and found him at the Stanford Law School where he is known for, among other things, as a Professor that teaches and writes in the areas of constitutional law, contracts, comparative constitutional law, and the law of cyberspace[Interesting reading].

Earth as a "single unit" would be beautiful but will never happen with so many diverse cultures, religions, and most of all -- POLITICS!

I can't find any reference either, maybe I dis-remembered.
Lars was a canidate for everything, any office, he always ran for the American First Party or something like that.

I have seen the diverse cultures and religions work together quite well, often and in some difficult situations. Politics is the problem.

I too have seen varyious cultures, et al., work together in harmony, having lived in other countries many times over. The only one I exclude is the politico's. It seems to me that any time someone gets the taste of power, regardless of how minor that power is, over anyone else, they go directly into the old "Power Corrupts, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely".
