Sony Microvault, and Red Hat 9

This is driving me nuts... I have a Fujitsu Memorybird Thumbdrive that I have set up to use on my Linux box, as /dev/sda1. I just bought a Sony Microvault (128Mb, USB 2.0), and I have yet to find a way to get it to work. In the fstab, I tried /dev/sdb1, and it will not work...
The error message I get when I try to mount it is:
"Could not mount device. The reported error was: mount:wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock of /dev/sdb1, or too many mounted file systems"
I formatted it with FAT (vs. the standard FAT32) hoping that that was the problem...
I will run and see what my /var/log/messages looks like, and post some of it...

Here is the /var/log/messages output. Sorry this is so long, I just figured that the more info available, the better the chance of getting a workaround…
Notice in red, where it tried to detect the partitions on both the Fujitsu (yellow) and the Sony (green). Why would the Fuji have one (as it should) but the Sony seems to have 4? I did make sure that the Sony was formatted in FAT (16, not 32) so I am really stumped…

Also you will most likely need scsi support in the kernel to use /dev/sdx etc...

Well, I am assuming that I have scsi support, as I am able to use my Fujitsu usb drive... I will check out the link, then let you know if I can dig something up. Thanks!

I just can't figure out why it sees the MicroVault as 4 partitions (it is formatted as one, of course). I see that it recognized the device as "sdb" but when I put sdb in the fstab, I get errors about filesystem types and such. I have verified that the filesystems are correct, but am still having no luck getting the darn thing to work. I wonder... On Sony's website, it says to use a certain formatting utility (a Sony product) to format it because if you format it using regular channels, you may destroy some of the drive's integrity. I wonder if, when I formatted it to FAT, if I did something to it...
