    USB Device

How do I find which usb device a device is? I hooked up my LG VX4400 cellphone with a USB cable. MDK 9.1 sees it, but I need to tell this program, BITPIM, the device so it can find it. Thanks.

    Re:USB Device

    ok at home now
I think what you are looking for is /proc/bus/usb/devices

    or

    /dev/usb/ttyUSB(X)

    Hopefully anyway

The device is the Qualcomm CDMA...but I dont know how to use the info contained in that section

As far as dev/usb/ttyusbx...that is what my program defaults to for the location of the phone, but I do not have that entry....

    Re:USB Device

Well at least the system can see it if it is in the /proc filesystem

Maybe you can find the dev location by:

    1. updatedb
    2. locate usb | grep dev
Its better to regret something you have done than to regret something you havent done :P

Update: I had to get a different cable and now it works, the device is /dev/usb/tts/0. Thanks for the help.
