wireless netgear ma401

Hi all

got a stange problem, bought D-link access point 900AP+ (22mb) and a wireless pcmica card Netgear ma401. I could not find the dwl 650 to buy.

Got the AP setup ok however not configured wireless card. When I run iwconfig this is the output I get.. Whats odd is its picking up the accesspoint of some one else. Its even got the mac address detail.

My question is if the mandrake 9.1 does not detect, willl I have to re-install again for it to detect my ma401 card? Reading the later post it sounds like the only solution.

Hi Guys

for reasons I can't explain I got my wireless card working, without having to reinstall mandrake 9.1 what did I do.

Well I got me self an 2gb hardrive setup win98 for testing purposes installed setup wep stuff tried it, it worked. Then I put back my 10gb with mandrake only and fired it up volia it worked with no configuration strange but true, I'm typing from wireless laptop now hehhehe.
