Newbe Install Question

I just downloaded SuSE 8.1, and would like some advice before installing it. I have a brand new (actually, a factory refurbished) Western Digital 10.2 Gig hard drive to install this on to. Do I need to do something to the hard drive before installing? Or do I just set the bios to boot from CD and let her rip? I don't want to do this wrong, so I'm asking before I start.

Eagerly hoping for advice, I can't wait to get started!

the installer should help you partition it...
are you just putting linux on it? if yes then great, you won't need to worry about working around windows
