maybe look for it as gdm.rpmnew
i think that is what i remember happening with my RPMs
Hi Guys
I always try to stay up to date with the desktop, any way gnome 2.2 has gone slight wrong and hope you might be able to help. I was installing the rpm got the gdm one installed it after while gnome slowed down then stopped sometimes cursor was flashing other times it stopped. I restarted my machine and got this error.
Server Authorization directory (daemon/SerAuthDir) is set to /usr/var/gdm but this does not exist. Please correct gdm configuration /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and restart gdm.
I know a copy of the gdm was saved as gdm.rpmsave I think but I could not find it to restore. So copied the gdm.conf from the test machine. I can boot into console, but I dont have my GUI
I only wish I had done this on my test machine <moan moan>
Any advice and help much appreciated :-[
