Dear Sir,

Greetings !

Hope you are doing fine. Well, I have some problem in setting up 802.11b setup for Intersil Card a SoC board featuring ARM920T Core.

I have configured Linux-2.4.21 kernel, ARM Linux patch along with Cirrus Logic's Patch. Further, I have obtained successful configuration of Linux-Wlan-NG-0.2.1-Pre20 and compiled prism driver and its p802.11 protocol module.

In the SoC, though I get result_code = success after typing the parameters such as :

'modprobe prism2_usb prism2_doreset=1' to load the driver into memory.

'wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable' to initialize the driver+MAC functions.

'wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid=<your ssid> authtype=opensystem'
to enable the MAC in Infrastructure Station mode.

'ifconfig wlan0 <your IP address>'

Eventually, I get an error message as

" p80211knetdev-hard-start-xmit: Tx attempt prior to association; frame dropped. "

I have assured correct SSID as well as IP address. The ping status shows " Request timed out " after disconnecting the Ethernet MAC Cable. As far as Access Point is concerned, I am sure it doesn't have any problem. I have also verified about USB HOST of the board and it is working perfectly fine.

Although, I am optimistic about the Wlanctl-Ng utility, I wanted to try out the other option through wlan.conf method. I have made appropriate settings here. But, there is no improvement.

Hence, please consider my above problem and do furnish suitable suggestions and oblige.
Should you need any clarifications, please do feel free to contact me.

Looking forward to receive prompt and favorable response,
