i actually had no probs with my rh9+ati card... maybe its coz i just copied my rh 8 XF86Config file over....
whatdoyougetwhenyoumultiplysixbynine??
well, i almost did the same thing for my matrox card when i installed 9.0, but the XF86Configs are a bit different this time. For example, the new one contained a video ram size option in the device section. I figured i would play it safe and just make the new one work
hmm, yeah
but i usually its commented out, even if you make one with xf86config and it asks you for it.....
whatdoyougetwhenyoumultiplysixbynine??
that is the thing i really liked about gentoo and X, it showed me all the options i could use, haivng most of them commented out already. RH just didn't bother.. :-\
This has really caught my attention. This is the first time that I've seen this post. I was going through the Nvidia readme & installation guide and in Appendix D it says that hardware acceleration is not enabled.
Who is going to read through 20 or 30 pages of unnecessary stuff to find something that you shouldn't have to worry about in the first place?
Anyway It's not clear to me, where exactly in the XF86Config-4 file do you add "Option "RenderAccel" "1"?
hmm, i think in the section "Driver"
