Gnome/XfFREE
I have nvidia geforce 2 (generic). I downloaded latest drivers from nvidia
website and everythin is awesome. When i restart my computer i get nvidia
splash image. The only problem is that when i log out and log back in my
fonts look a little weird and not sharp. If i restart the computer my
fonts look good and normal. Oh yeah i use Gnome 2. I uploaded screenshots
so you can see and compare:
http://mysubprofile.com/peax/images/...reenshot-1.png <this is normal screen http://mysubprofile.com/peax/images/...reenshot-2.png <this is not that good
i can really see the diffence when i open up gnome menu. But you can see
that font is weird if you look at the clock.

Re:Gnome/XfFREE
What happens if you just restart X? Do you get the same results as restarting the computer? the difference we are seeing is that one is using anti-aliasing and the other is not. check /var/log/messages for anything out of the ordinary. also there is a log for X, but i don't remember where it is at the moment(i am not on my PC), but i think it is something like /var/log/xfree86.0.log

Re:Gnome/XfFREE
Great, let me know if you find anything out of the ordinanry. particularly check the sections where X is loading and when the system is getting booted.

Re:Gnome/XfFREE
hello,
I did not find anything really weird in the files but here is the XFree 86.0.log file. I also have XFree86.1.log and XFree86.9.log files.
here is XFree86.0.log
http://mysubprofile.com/peax/images/fix/XFree86.0.log
and here is the messages file

again thank you for helping

Re:Gnome/XfFREE
when you log out and then back in, are you the same user? if not, i am not sure what else it could be aside from being an nvidiot glitch
