Sorry don't use macs man. Linux and Windows dual boot the whole way. The only reason I need Windows is for Splinter Cell & BF2.
do u have USB problems with macs?
i have a powerbook g4 and a powermac g4 and both
have prob recognizing usb memory sticks, usb external hard drives and
dvd burners, etc.
problem: mouse wont work = frozen!
[ this is the standard powermac usb mouse that plugs into the keyboard that plugs into the usb ]
problem: same thing with the powerbook g4!

1. Are the hard disks, CD/DVDs, and USB thumb drives formatted for the Macs you are using?
2. Does it make a difference if you plug them in before or after you boot the Mac?
I would make sure the devices are formatted properly.
I have a G4 Mini Mac and use usb mouse & keyboard without any problems. I've recently bought an external usb hub since the mini only has 2 usb ports. I haven't tried connecting anything to it yet.

My iMac and MacBook have no issue as of yet. These are the newer Intel C2D based Apples, so that may have something to do with it. Seems like your machines are an older chipset and design than the current motherboards, so that may have something to do with it.
