Hey there I just installed Slackware 8.1 not very long ago. What an experience it has been! (I mean compared to the easy distros like RH, Mdk and SuSE)

Slackware did not have the driver for my Ethernet chipset (Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit, which is onboard my mobo) but I found the source code on the mobo CD. It compiled and installed OK. After some fiddling around I have finally got it to connect to the network (and thus the internet).

However, every time I boot I need to run:

# insmod bcm5700
# /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1
# /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2

My problem is: How do I load the bcm5700 module before the inet scripts run on boot? I am not yet very familiar with the bootscripts so please someone point me in the right direction. Would I need to recompile the kernel? I haven't done that before
