problem
the image is "bigger" than the display, i have to move mouse to left, right, down, up to see the rest of the desktop. i have the drivers from nvidia, installed them, edited xf86config , also tried with xf86cfg. i choosed the right hsync and vsync (from the monitors'manual). what i have done wrong ?

When you use xf86config it will ask something about having a bigger virtual desktop. I believe it's in the section where you adjust the screens aka 800x600 1024x768 etc. Just make sure you say no.
I'm not 100% sure on this next one, but I believe if you edit the XF86Config manually, you can enter ViewPort 0 0 into the Screens section to stop this. It would look like this:
Subsection "Display"
Depth 8
Modes "640x480" "800x600" "1024x768" "1280x1024"
ViewPort 0 0
You need to do that for every subsection you have so it will need to be added for depth 16, and 24 as well.
