Hi Guys
got some spare time on my hands from work ;D Is there a similar program to winpopup thats on windows thats available for linux. I've got a small network and want to get the users attention via messaging program of some kind.

Run samba to receive the messages, and smbclient to send them.
RECEIVING MESSAGES
===================
1. Make sure that Samba starts upon boot:
ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S75smb
2. Provide an action to deal with the message:
edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file, add in the [global] section:
message command = cat %s > /dev/console &
SENDING MESSAGES
==================
smbclient -M nameOfYourMachine
All the text
That you want
To pop Up on nameOfYourMachine<Ctrl+D><CTrl+D>
or:
cat fileName > smbclient -M nameOfYourMachine
It works on a mixed network (Linux and Windows)
