Run samba to receive the messages, and smbclient to send them.
    1. Make sure that Samba starts upon boot:
    ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S75smb
    2. Provide an action to deal with the message:
edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file, add in the [global] section:
    message command = cat %s > /dev/console &

    smbclient -M nameOfYourMachine
    All the text
    That you want
    To pop Up on nameOfYourMachine<Ctrl+D><CTrl+D>

cat fileName > smbclient -M nameOfYourMachine

It works on a mixed network (Linux and Windows)
