I have a Surecom EP 320X-si NIC card. Which I now have sort of working!.
I am using a cable modem for the WEB, which uses DHCP for the ip@.
I don't get an ip@ until, i use the dhclient eth0 command.
Once i do this, i get a ip@.
However, once I have done this, I can no longer launch any programs, so I must make sure my web browser is open before I use this command. If my web browser is open, I can surf away happily.
When I try to launch a program, for example nautilus, I get this error:-
[root@localhost root]# nautilus
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
(nautilus:1215): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0
Also when I boot up, I get this error:-
network: Setting network parameters: suceeded
network: Bringing up loopback interface: suceeded
ifup:
ifup: Determining IP information for eth0...
ifup: failed, no link present. Check cable?
network: Bringing up interface eth0: failed
Any Ideas?
