    MySQL and Redhat 7.2

    hi all
    when i have Redhat 7.2 on my pc ....
    am i need to download Mysql ?????
    one of my frindes tell me :
    mysql comes with Redhat 7.2 in Second CD . and
    you have to configre it just !!!!!
    Is it truth ??? ??? ??? ??? ?????
    if yes how to configre it please

    Not sure - look in the RedHat/RPM's for the mySQL rpm

    Yes, Red Hat does come with mysql. It will be on your CD's.

    There will be a documentation rpm or look at the docs on mysql's website on how to configure/use mysql.

    what Its name - i mean Mysql RPM-
    first is it just one RPM or many ??? ??? ??? ???
    can you Tell me where can i find it ;D ;D?

    No there will be several Mysql RPM's. How many I don't know. I don't have the 7.2 CD's handy to look. More then likely they will not all be on the same CD. You are going to have to look and see which CD they are on.

    They will have names like this....
    mysql-<version>
    mysql-devel-<version>
    mysql-server-<version>

    and so on...

    i found this RPM
    mysql-python0.9.0-2.i386.rpm
    mysql-3.23.41-1.i386.rpm
    mysql-devel-3.23.41-1.386.rpm
    mysql-server-3.23.41-1.386.rpm
    mysqlclint9-3.23.22-6.386.rpm

    is it Enough ??? ??? ??? ?
    or i have to download other RPMS?
    i found them in Second CD?
    if Enough ... i have to install all of them or just some of them
    ??????????????/

    thanks i do it but :-[ :-[ :-[
    i can not run Mysql
    when i type :
    #mysql
    error Can not Connect to local mysql server through ' var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock'
    Check mysql that running and that the socket :var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists ????????
    when i go to the var/lib/mysql
    i found it empty ??? ??? ?
    wht to do and how can i run it ??
