I could use some help with this issue again, now that I am using Mandrake 9. I can burn date, using Eroaster. But, once again, cant convert mp3's using it. In Suse, it used to just sit there with the convert dialog box open, now in Mandrake, it gives me this error:
"an error occured while decoding....(mp3)
Playting MPEG streat from (mp3)
My writer is set to scd0. But, I didnt add the line in Lilo.conf yet, do I still have to since it is already detected as SCD0?
This is the results of cdrecord -scanbus

MORE INFO as of 1/14/03...
I can convert mp3's if I use the XMMS diskwriter, but again, when I try to do it in eroaster, the convert dialog box either sits there and does nothing, or it give me the error I mentioned above, depending on which version of eroaster I am trying.
Also, in eroaster now, when I try to get it to detect the cd recorder settings, it wont do it and it gives this message:
couldnt detect your reader/recorder
Please make sure that you are root or that you are allowed to read dev/sg* !
I never had that before. I know what the settings are for this, but why is it locking me out of it..
Like I said, I can write data....
