I have Suse 8.0 Pro and I just copied my WinBlows fonts over to Suse. KDE looks great, but I am also trying to figure out how to get Mozilla to look that good.
I've got some great tip in this forum for customizing mozilla and font support in my red hat 8 installation. (used the mozilla with xft support .. and browsing never looked better)
I also have this suSE 8.1 pro installation, and I would love to make the mozilla look as good as in rh8 .. I fiddled around a bit with trying to add truetype fonts to my kde .. but I really don't know what I am doing here, only used suse for a couple of days ..
anyone have any experience to add ttf fonts etc to suse ??
grateful for any help .. thanks boys and gals for a great forum

Where do I put the *.ttf fonts from winDOZ ??
and do I have to do something more than just copy them
to a location ??

First off I just copied them to a folder on the desktop, then I went into Control Center, under System, and then Fonts Installer. You choose the folder you put them in and then hit the install button. Good luck and let me know if you figure out how to get them into Mozilla.
This page has been very helpful...check it out to help you get the fonts into Netscape/Mozilla

Thanks man for the tip ... I'll dig into that ..
I did another thing, that made some fonts available for me,
verdana and such fonts .. not an expert on this![]()
navigating to : /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype#
ln -s /to/myfont/directory/*.ttf .
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype#
ttmkfdir | sed s/^[0-9]*// >fonts.scale.myfonts
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype#
/sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.fonts
and then to make the fonts available without restarting:
xset +fp /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
I think that made some fonts available that I didn't have before,
but I am not totally positive here, cause I haven't really dug into it
before, but as for now I look at this forum using verdana and it does look great.
hope it is worth something

Thanks for your tip. I followed the instructions in the link I sent and I was able to get tons more fonts available in Netscape, but not in Mozilla. I may have typed something wrong...but they still dont look so good in Netscape. I guess we will both keep working and learning.
