    Module Installation for ESSModem (WinModem)

    Hi,
I'm running Mandrake Linux 8.0 and I got everything up and running today, but I realized my modem is a WinModem Anyways I found a driver for it, but here's where the problem occurs.
I try to install the module (esscom.o) by using "insmod" and it keeps on saying "Unrecognized Symbols" and it doesn't load it up.
How would I go about loading this module?

    Thanks!

Kernel modules are kernel version specific. If the module you are trying to load has not been compiled for the kernel you are running it will produce "unresolved symbol" errors.
