Linux and NTFS

hey guys and gals,

i have i question for you all, is the a distro of linux that can see read and write to windows ntfs, i'm sure there has to be some where.

at the moment i am using windows 2000 advanced server and redhat 8.

Pls help.

It is possible but writing is in an experimental stage.

It's pretty easy to include read support in your RH80 distro.

You can enable write support on an NTFS partition in any distribution. However you will end up with a destoyed NTFS filesystem. Write support IS NOT safe. If you need write support use an FAT32 partition for shared data.

Now i can read file form NTFS File system, but i only can read english informations from it, can not read Chinese information,this is very important for me, may you help me!

Try adding the "iocharset=name" option to your mount options. Replace name with the charset.
