    comtux im not getting what your really saying, im thinking you want my fat and ntfs partition layout

    /dev/hda
    -/dev/hda2 NTFS (Windows system files, and windows only programs)30GB

    /dev/sda
    -/dev/sda4 Fat32/vfat (Program files for games and open source apps (for windows), Media files, and documents) 120GB

    CT is probably getting at the idea that if you don't need a FAT32 partition then you should ditch it and refomat with a native linux file system. But you wouldn't be able to write to it when you are running Windows.

    You are probably like me in the respect I need a big FAT32 partition around simply becaue I haven't been able to completely irradicate Windows from my computer and I need a partition that both Linux and Windows can read/write.

    i must just create a Linux partition for my media because this is getting to be a pain

    or you could go the easy way and setup a fileserver with samba.

    just a suggestion...
