Hi,
I'm using ADSL in Mandrake 8.2 (and WIN XP, 2000 Server, 98SE tri-boot) and it was working fine until I installed a Linksys Router, now I can't get it to connect. How do configure my system to use the router to get online?
Thanks

This is only partially true. You were using ADSL in Mandrake 8.2 - but you aren't any longer. Now you're using ADSL with the Linksys router.Originally Posted by DMAN

If you're using static IPs for your internal network, then you'll want to be sure the router is properly set to do that.
If the router is assigning IPs via DHCP, then you have to be sure and have a DHCP client installed on your Mandrake box - which you probably already do if you were previously successfull in using your ADSL connection straight from the Drake box - and make sure that the router's DHCP server is actively assigning IPs.
Perhaps someone here who actually uses a Linksys router might be able to provide you with some more info, but be sure and check the Linksys docs/website as well.
Thanks,
I set it up with DHCP and treaked my IP a little and PRESTO...I'm on the net again!

I don't know what it is, but every time I post a message here I always figure it out most of the time before I get a response. Must be the magic of Linux....You guys RULE!! I couldn't have done any of this without you.
