    Gnome Troubles

I just installed Red Hat 7.3 (download version) And by default it boots into Gnome first. I have no problem with that, but the first boot, it started loading, and then it said that the Gnome panel crashed, so I told it to close it. After logging out, and back in, the panel isn't there, and I don't know how to get it back. I am pretty new to this, and if you don't have the panel, I don't know how to use Gnome. Any help would be nice.

    In a console window type:

    panel &

Then save your session under session properties from the Gnome menu or just remember to save your session when you logout.

by typing "panel &", the "&" allows you to also type disown and close the console right?

"&" means run in the background. If you type disown in the console it will allow you to close the console and not kill the child processes. Former child processes after typing disown.
