MIME TYPES associate, wine

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to open .exe files (mimetype application/x-executable) and what program to use to open them.

Also any hints on how to use wine. I have it installed...I think with fake windows.

Nevermind...figured out mime type for exe, but still am very confused about how to run or use wine. Please help!

sorry bout that
what wine do you have? the one from winehq.com or the codeweavers release?
basicly its as easy as going wine <win exe file>
you should be able to edit the mimetype to run something like wine "$@"

I believe I have the one from winehq. By the way I still need help with opening some files. I t keeps asking me what to use to open it with...especially the ones that look like gears (icon)
I wish i knew more about this stuff. I recently configureed Mandrake to see my NTFS (XP) partition so i might not need wine but just in case...at least until I get the hang of Linux. That's (XP) where I have all my files and MP3's.
