    Re:Superuser Path

    There is no directory /etc/profile.d

    The following is a copy of /etc/profile:

    # /etc/profile: system-wide .profile file for the Bourne shell (sh(1))
    # and Bourne compatible shells (bash(1), ksh(1), ash(1), ...).

    PATH="/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/java/j2re1.4.0_01/bin:/usr/lib:/home/matt:/usr/games"

    if [ "$BASH" ]; then
    PS1='\u@\h:\w\$ '
    else
    if [ "`id -u`" -eq 0 ]; then
    PS1='# '
    else
    PS1='$ '
    fi
    fi

    export PATH PS1

    umask 022

    Thanx again for your patience and assistance!!

    Interesting Libranet (Debian) must place the root path somewhere else.

    A google search turned up root path as being set in /root/.profile

    Look in there are see if thats where it is. LiNuts might know. He uses Libranet, but I have not seen him on for a few days.

    Re:Superuser Path

    Looked for /root/.profile, however, could not find it, only found the one previously suggested /root/.bash_profile. This file, /root/.bash_profile lists a PATH for export, but when changed does not have any affect. Left a message on Libranet's fourm, but I don't suppose they will respond since I am not a card carrying member. Getting tired of this distribution, have downloaded RedHat7.3 and SuSE8.0, will flip a coin and change to the winner.

    CHEERS!

    Slick. So far so good! Piece of cake to install. Everything that I have looked for is where I expected it to be.

    Will let you know if I run into any probs.

    You know there is some truth to the old adage, "Ask a pro, listen to the pro, be like a pro." Red Hat is like night and day compared to Libranet. Thank you JimH for the encouragement to switch. By the way once the PATH was modified LimeWire installed just as easy as in Windoze.
