    RH7.3 During Installation problem

    What I've done so far:
    1) First CD worked and I even did like 5 or so reinstallations and all passed. Now it doesn't work anymore for some reason. Made a new cd from the ISO
    2) Changed CDROM drives
    3) Moved partitions around to cancel the possible issue of bad sectors.

    What I've changed since then:
    1) Harddisk -but- SAME BRAND! SAME MODEL! duh SAME SIZE!
    2) Cleared CMOS

    Now that is strange. ???

    2) Changed CDROM drives
You changed the drives after you started to have problems?

Can you think of anything you might have changed between the time the install worked and now?

    Re:RH7.3 During Installation problem

I've tried all but change the harddisks but it would make me look in doubt the reason to change them... I mean, they are exactly the same.
Only hardware change was the harddisk. CD burner was the same. Some people said its the cdrom so I changed it and it still does it.
So what now? Wanna tell me what the error message is suggesting so I will know what to put my eyes on?

Did you run the mediacheck on the cd's to make usre they pass?

Only possible error I see might be a reference to not enough disk space. How did you partition your drive? If you created one of the partitions too small this might be causing your problem.

Doubt so, cuz dude... same partitions - it worked the first many times. I'm not exactly good so I reinstalled many times cuz i messed up with rpms

    UNTIL

the point I tested another hardware on it, and then put everything back - cleared cmos, BUT use a different harddisk of the exact same kind.
    Partitions were made cylinder-to-cylinder.
    40GB, cant run outta space.

OK so everything worked until you swapped some different hardware in the box to test it?

I wonder if clearing the CMOS back to the default settings changed something that the Red Hat installer doesn't like now. Your problem did start after you cleared it, right?

    Re:RH7.3 During Installation problem

I have lots and lots of different hardware. I've used many, I'm quite certain and very familiar with CMOS.
im running outta ideas here..... harddisk? cmos? something of relating to cdrom? any idea?

    mobo is Abit kr7A raid
and no, im not using the raid controllers rihgtn ow, tho i have before and it works

    Re:RH7.3 During Installation problem

Really wierd since you are using the same hardware as before that worked.

Did you swap the IDE cables maybe and ended up with a bad one? Double check the jumpers on your drives.

Make sure you check the cd's again. There have been a lot of people reporting problems with burning valid cd's for Red Hat 7.3
