NO. Most likely because they are not installed.

How did you install Samba? If you installed Samba by a method other then using the Red Hat provided rpms then the version of swat that comes with Red Hat WILL NOT work.

How do I find my cd drive?

Check the front of your computer and make sure someone didn't steal it? :P

It doesn't show in the file manager.
Should it?

No. The drive will only show if there is a cd in the drive and the drive is mounted.

KDE or GNOME? Other? Unless automounting is disabled when you place a data cd in the drive the file manager should popup showing the contents of the drive. If this isn't happening, then at a shell prompt type: mount /mnt/cdrom

This is of course assuming your cdroms mount point is /mnt/cdrom

Start with the "Getting Started Guide" and then check out the other 2. Red Hat supplied docs are very good. ;D

I seem to have it all reinstalled.
At least it lets me browse from my windows machine onto the linux machine again.

I still get this:

netstat -an | grep 901

Means swat is not running?
In the servvice configuration it is checked. That means it running yes?

Service configuration only means that it is supposed to start on boot. It does not mean it is actually running.

Something is really strange. Try stopping by the IRC channel. Something more interactive then the forum might help to figure this out.
