    Re:SWAT Connection to 127.0.0.1:901 refused

One thing i haven't seen mentioned about SWAT is the editing of etc/services. i know when i installed SWAT, i had to add the line "swat 901/tcp"

Is this done automatically with an RPM? if not maybe this could be cause this issues when you try to listen to port 901.

    Goodluck,

You shouldn't really have too much trouble with your router i don't think. for those routers, you can get to the setup page by using 192.168.1.1 . i use one myself, and once you have the internet setup, samba and swat will just go with the flow.

Doesn't matter since you are trying to connect to swat locally. You are trying to connect to swat locally right?

Yes it is, This isn't necessary.

Backup your Samba config. Uninstall swat and samba. Then reinstall them and see if it works.

    Uninstall as root:

    rpm -e samba-swat samba samba-client samba-common

    Reinstall:

These rpms are probably not all on the same cd, but if they are you can just change to the directory on the cd where they are and:

    rpm -Uvh samba*.rpm

Or just copy the rpms to your hard drive and use the above command. Or you can just forget the cd's altogether if you are subscribed to RHN and:

    up2date samba samba-swat

    More information on using RPM.
