Installing gnome 2

Just installing gnome 2 on mandrake 8.2 via Ximians red carpet...bet it kills my setup lol
if not I'llpost a nice new screeenie on the desktop screens post later

and it did..got it fixed..kinda..now have a bastardised gnome1.4/2 hybrid lol
no screenies yet but I'll post some when i get it working a bit better

Check the Limbo thread under Red Hat. I posted some screens of Gnome2 with AA fonts enabled. Niiiiiiice. Will be even better once more of the Gnome/GTK apps are ported to Gnome2/GTK2.

I have been looking for Gnome2 rpms. I an not sure which ones to download. Is it the pre-release?

Also, how do you install once you have them? I notice that they are all sub-divided into individual folders?

I have tried google with "Gnome2 +RedHat" also "Gnome2 +Installation" and various aother combinations but basically nothing useful comes up. God, i wish they would providfe some legible instructions with their software...Moan ....Moan

Wanted to give Gnome2 a whirl

There are not any for Red Hat 7.3. When I had Gnome2 installed on my 7.3 box it was from recompiled source rpms from rawhide. I might still have those RPMS's. I will look and see, but I think you are going to be better off to wait for the next Red Hat release.
